Company
History
The
Thuringian company dates back to a long tradition. The region around
Ruhla/Seebach has already been a center of the watch and clock industry
and of precision mechanics for 140 years. In 1862 the brothers Thiel
founded a metal goods factory and twenty years after they began with
the production of pocket watches. In the course of time the company
advanced to one of the largest and most important clock manufacturers
of Germany.
From this successful traditional enterprise three electronic developers have founded the HKW-Elektronik GmbH.
The technology region
The company is situated in the dynamic technology region of Thuringia.
In the region around Seebach and Eisenach companies from the tool and
plastics engineering as well as surface processing and equipment
assembly reside together with those from the vehicle and machinery
construction industry. Also the closely located Technical University of
Ilmenau and the Institut for Microsensor Technology (CiS) in Erfurt are
big enrichments for the location of the HKW-Elektronik GmbH.
