History

History

The Thuringian company stems from a long tradition. For over 140 years, the region around Ruhla / Seebach has been the center of the watch industry and precision engineering. In 1862 the Thiel Brothers founded a metal factory here and twenty years later they started producing pocket watches. Over time, the Thiel Brothers company became one of the largest and most important watch manufacturers in Germany.

Out of this successful traditional company grew the three electronics developers of HKW-Elektronik GmbH

The technology region

The Company is located in the emerging technology region of Thuringia.
